It wasn’t until I moved to Prince George that I decided to continue blogging but with a different blog.
Since then I’ve learned basic XHTML and CSS, from a book recommended by a blogging friend. The book is called, XHTML For The World Wide Web, by Elizabeth Castro. Learning this stuff is easy. If I can do it so can you.
Through blogging, I’ve made many internet friends, and have met some of them in real life, in Vancouver and in Kelowna.
I've got writing gigs that payed actual money, and I’ve even made money, displaying advertising on my blogs.
In 2009 I started this blog, Northern Gardeners Almanac, as a place for beginning gardeners, and northern gardeners to learn and share, how to grow food in their gardens.
Thanks everyone who has ever written a comment on my blogs, or connected with me in some why because of my blogs. It’s been great fun!
Here’s to another ten years of blogging.
Congrats on 10 years! That is quite the accomplishment! I am very glad that you write about gardening in the North, it is nice to read about what is possible to grow in my zone!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kris, and thank you for coming to my blog for your gardening information :)
DeleteHey, happy first decade! That's really cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you kate.
DeleteYou were a blogging pioneer. 10 years is something. Glad to have found your blog. Here's to more gardening posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you GOSS
DeleteHappy Anniversary Melanie. I still remember the first time i commented on your post. Time flies quickly and i have been blogging for years too, although not yet a decade. At least you get some money from writing, i wish i can do that too. However, even my application for AdSense for both my sites are disapproved and I don't know why. So i just gave up on that. Glad to have met you here Melanie, as we have very opposite worlds, so i learn from you!
ReplyDeleteThat is weird that google, adsense, is not allowed for your blogs? I'm really glad to have met you too Andrea.
Deletewow ten years - I didn't realise you were doing this for so long Melanie - congratulations. Lovely winter scene too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie, That picture is not a winter scene. It was taken in July at the Kristi Glacier, East of Prince George. We hiked in there and stayed over night.
Delete10 years!!! wow wow and wow Melanie. That is fantastic. I too just loved the photo, spectacular scenery.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marguerite.
Delete10 years is a mighty long time! Great job and a hearty congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina.
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteNote: the link to "Seedy Saturdays" across BC leads to a page with 2010 dates.
I'm not responsible for them not updating their site with 2013 info. I'm sure the contact information, phone numbers, email addresses still work.
