The ground is frozen and covered in a thick blanket of white, it's minus 25C outside so pour yourself a hot drink and curl up with Alys Fowler. She wants to avoid buying food from the shops and live off her own home grown fruit and vegetables. In the six movies below, put out by the BBC, she talks about growing peas and beans, salads, roots and leafy greens, juicy fruits, flowers and herbs and the winter larder.

OMG -25C is an extremely unfathomable temperature for me to live with. So you just come here to my blogposts and i will warm you a little bit, haha! I didn't open the videos as i have bad connection, besides it will not be for me anyway!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for it to warm up to minus ten so I can go skiing :)
DeleteI love watching Alys here on TV. Brrrh I can't imagine what having -25 is like continuously!
ReplyDeleteRosie It was minus 25 ish for a couple of days It's warmed up now, today it was minus 5. Because of global warming we get a lot less days of minus twenty or colder than we used too. We used to get weeks of days below minus 30. Nowadays we may get one day of below minus 30.
DeleteThanks for the movie time! Not quite as cold here but once the snow is on the ground it's all pretty much the same. It's nice visiting a gardening blog that isn't just about growing in the balmy south 12 months of the year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by. Sometimes I wish I lived further south, but when I realize how loooong the gardening season would be I'm glad that my gardening season is short :), gives me time to do other things.
